Indulgence
I would love to
just once
Open my door to fresh baked bread
Filling my place with house
made home odors
Dishes done dinner cooked
by a beared barefoot brother
color from head to toe something like
cinnamon or ivory coast
tasting like breakfast
Fried green tomatoes over easy
Country side up
and french toast kisses
His embrace erases all traces of
mental pollution
Because he’s green as organic
oak tree swings made of vines
sat on by future’s children
Healthy as brocolli raw as
ol dirty brothers that hopefully
made it to heaven
Said he wants to rub my sore soles
Strip me of rainbowed robe
bracelets and rings and worry
“You don’t have to worry”
Singing R & B anthems as the
wash tub water runs
He needs me clean
Purified in warm water
ready for the anointing
He prays for me
Jesus heal every crevice pore
correct her thoughts and her walk
give me what I need to say
show me how to lead her in the way
You would have me….
Would you, have me baby
Would you?
