Breaking News: 4 Kids Hit With Gunfire at Miami-Dade Park (West Little River)

West Little River Park (North Side Optimist) is disrupted during what was suppose to have been a normal day of football and cheer leading practice. This story has touched home with me because I attended West Little River Elementary School and I am very familiar with North Side Optimist. It really isn't fair how these reported gunmen chose to risk the lives of hundreds of innocent children in their efforts of targeting a group of males. This drive-by shooting has left 4 kids injured 3 football players and 1 cheerleader. Every day I am at the park supporting my little brother as he practices football. Optimist programs have been around for decades in our communities, bringing families closer together to support the youth as they set forth in extra-curricular activities. Let's pray that The Miami-Dade Police Department handles this situation accordingly and attend to the proper procedures that will better protect the community in public places.
